("we," "us," or "our"), a Delaware corporation operating the Technician Economy™ initiative, collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you visit technicianeconomy.org, subscribe to our newsletter, or otherwise interact with us. It applies to all visitors, regardless of location.
By using this website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these practices, please do not use the site.
The Technician Economy™ is a research, education, and economic development initiative operated by Unmudl, Inc., headquartered in Austin, Texas. Our mission is to give voice and visibility to the Technician Economy — the skilled workforce that powers American industry.

- Name and email address when you subscribe to the Technician Economy Review™ newsletter
- Professional details such as Industry, Geography, and Priority interest area submitted via our sign-up forms
- Messages or inquiries submitted via contact forms or email
Information collected automatically
- IP address and general geographic location (country/region level)
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages visited, time on site, and referral source
- Cookie and tracking data (see Section 7)
Information from third-party services
- Aggregate, anonymized analytics data from Google Analytics
- Subscriber and engagement data managed through HubSpot, our email marketing and CRM platform
We do not intentionally collect sensitive categories of personal information such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, health data, or financial account details.

We use this information to:
- Deliver the Technician Economy Review™ newsletter and related editorial communications you have opted into
- Send updates about the Technician Economy™ initiative, events, and network programs relevant to your subscription
- Respond to your inquiries and support requests

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling in ways that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

05Information Sharing
We may share your information with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) or equivalent contractual protections, including HubSpot (email marketing and CRM), Google (analytics), and Webflow (website hosting and infrastructure). These providers are authorized to use your data only as directed by us and are contractually required to protect it.
- Legal authorities if required by law, court order, or other governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Unmudl, Inc., our users, or the public.
- Business successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale. We will make reasonable efforts to provide notice before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy; however, we cannot guarantee advance notice in all circumstances due to regulatory, legal, or confidentiality constraints applicable to such transactions.
We do not share your personal information with other third parties except as described in this policy or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law.
06Multi-Site Network Disclosure
The Technician Economy™ operates as a network of affiliated websites, all operated by Unmudl, Inc., including:

Shared technology platforms; including HubSpot and Google Analytics, may recognize you across these domains using cookies established on a prior visit. This means your subscriber status or browsing activity may be associated across network sites for purposes of personalizing communications and measuring the initiative's overall reach. No additional personal information is collected by this cross-domain recognition beyond what is described in Section 2.
Each site is governed by its own published privacy policy. The practices described in this policy apply solely to technicianeconomy.org. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit, including within our network.
09Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law:
- Newsletter subscriber data is retained for the duration of your subscription, plus a 24-month suppression period after unsubscription to prevent inadvertent re-addition to active lists.
- Contact form inquiries are retained for up to 2 years.
- Website analytics data is retained per the default settings of the analytics platform used (currently 26 months for Google Analytics).
- Legal compliance and regulatory records are retained for the period required by applicable law.
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us (see Section 17). Deletion requests will be honored within 30 days, subject to any applicable legal retention obligations that may prevent immediate or complete deletion.
10Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information. To exercise any right, contact us using the details in Section 17. We will respond within 30 days and may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
General rights — all users
- Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
- Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interest, including direct marketing. We will cease such processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds.
- Withdrawal of consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
California residents — CCPA / CPRA
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to know: Disclosure of categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, sources, business purposes, and third-party sharing.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to delete: Deletion of personal information subject to certain statutory exceptions.
- Right to correct: Correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing: We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. You may nonetheless submit a formal opt-out request at any time.
- Right to limit sensitive personal information: We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by CPRA; this right is therefore not currently applicable.
- Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any right under CCPA/CPRA.
California residents may designate an authorized agent to make requests on their behalf, subject to verification of the agent's authority.
Texas residents — TDPSA
Texas residents have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA, effective July 1, 2024), including the right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of personal data we hold, and to opt out of the processing of personal data for targeted advertising, sale, or profiling purposes. European / UK users — GDPR / UK GDPR
If you are located in the EEA or United Kingdom, you additionally have: the right to data portability (to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format); and the right to lodge a complaint with your relevant supervisory authority (e.g., your national Data Protection Authority). Our lawful processing bases are detailed in Section 4. We acknowledge that GDPR obligations may apply to our processing of EU/UK residents' data regardless of our physical location.
11Data Breach Notification
In the event of a security incident affecting your personal information, we are committed to notifying affected individuals and the relevant regulatory authorities in accordance with applicable law.
Our breach notification commitments include:
- Notifying affected individuals without unreasonable delay and within the timeframe required by applicable law. Regulatory notification timelines may range from 72 hours (GDPR) to 30 days (various US state laws). Individual notification will be provided within 30–60 days as required by jurisdiction.
- Complying with Texas breach notification requirements under the Texas Identity Theft Enforcement and Protection Act, including notification to the Texas Attorney General where required.
- Delivering notification by email to the address on file, or by conspicuous Website notice if direct contact is not feasible.
- Including in all breach notifications: a description of the incident; the categories of information involved; steps we have taken to contain the breach; and recommended steps you may take to protect yourself.

12Security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include HTTPS encryption for data in transit, role-based access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel, and use of reputable third-party platforms that maintain their own security programs and compliance certifications.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and we encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and exercise appropriate caution with information you share online. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please notify us immediately.

This Website may contain links to third-party websites, including other sites operated within the Technician Economy™ network (see Section 6 for cross-domain disclosure). We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of any third-party site, including network affiliates. Each site has its own applicable privacy policy. We encourage you to review that policy before providing any personal information on a third-party site.
14Children's Privacy
This website is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly and without retaining it in backup systems where technically feasible. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected information from your child, please contact us immediately at privacy@unmudl.com.
Users between the ages of 13 and 17 should review this Privacy Policy with a parent or guardian before submitting any personal information.
15International Users & Data Transfer
This Website is operated in the United States. If you access it from outside the United States, your personal information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those applicable in your home country.
By using this Website from outside the United States, you acknowledge that your information will be processed in the United States subject to US law. Where required by applicable law — including for EEA-to-US transfers under GDPR — we will rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), to lawfully transfer personal data.

16Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days' advance notice via email to active newsletter subscribers and/or a prominent notice on the Website before changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Website after changes take effect constitutes your acknowledgment of the revised policy. If you disagree with a material change, you may unsubscribe from communications and discontinue use of the Website. Unsubscribing does not retroactively affect processing that occurred prior to your withdrawal.
